I usually expect massive arrogance from political science wonks who only speak English, have never been to Iran and don’t know the first thing about computers, but this, takes the cake.
Daily Kos also seems to think that they are somehow networking experts, particularly about Iran.
Here are 4 VERY GOOD REASONS DDOS attacks should continue:
1) Iran’s Network Structure is more advanced that North Americans are assuming:
Contrary to popular belief, Iran’s city infrastruture is VERY MODERN. I say this because I was there two weeks ago, shopping for hardware in a six story technology center. A lot of people have DSL, how do you think all these images are getting out in the first place. Secondly, the internet trunks into countries have MUCH MORE CAPACITY then the handful of servers we are attacking.
Think about it this way:
“If I tell 1000 people to meet at the McDonald’s on 42nd near Time Square in New York at 12PM tomorrow, I will fill the restaurant and shut it down. I will not, however, bring the city of new york to a grinding halt.”
The simple fact is, that routers and fiber channel can handle many more TCP/IP packet requests than a servers CPU can.
2) IRIBNEWS.IR IS SPREADING HORRIBLE LIES ABOUT THE INTENTIONS OF THE VOTERS:
They have been calling the protesters thugs, and provocateurs, while they are being shot in the street. Shajarian, the leading “Soghati” (traditional singer) in Iran is refusing to have his works put on the network.
3) I HAVE BEEN ASKED BY RELIABLE TWITTER SOURCES, THE SAME ONES THAT WERE BREAKING YOUTUBE CLIPS ON SATURDAY MORNING WHILE YOU WERE STILL THINKING ABOUT SUSAN BOYLE.
4) IT’S WORKED SO FAR
We were bringing down president.ir and khamenei.ir on Sunday night. Meanwhile information has been coming out of Iran. IF IT AIN’T BROKE DON’T FIX IT
WHEN SHOULD WE STOP?
When Iranian Tweeps tell us to stop and IRIB is showing the kind of news they think is fair.
PS - THERE ARE OVER 9000 DDOS ATTACKERS, SO WATCH OUT!!!
